F.A.Q.
Summer Camp FAQ’s:
How do I register my child for camp?
To register, you will need to create an account and fill out basic information about your child.
Is there any deposits needed for camp?
YES, we have a $25 per camp deposit on our overnight camps and a $10/camp deposit for our Day Camps. These are non-refundable deposits on camp. This policy was enacted because we had families registering for camp and then did not show up. This takes spaces for our campers wanting to come and prevents waitlist campers from missing out on camp!
Are there any discounts?
Yes, we offer a few discounts:
~A Siblings Discount (Overnight Only) – the first child registered pays full price and each additional child will receive a $20 discount on their registration.
~6+ Week Day Camp Discount – If you register for 6 or more weeks of Day camp (per child) the fee goes from $235/week to $195/week.
~Early Bird Registration Discount (Overnight only) – Through 3/1 you will receive an automatic early bird pricing on our overnight camps. Those prices are automatically reflected on the pricing-no code needed!
Do you offer any scholarship for camp?
Yes, we have a Scholarship Process. Please fill out the form (CLICK HERE) and read the instructions. At this point, we are able to offer assistance thanks to many generous donors who help with this fund. We are not able to offer FULL SCHOLARSHIPS at this time.
Do you allow visitors on-site during camp weeks?
For the safety of our campers and staff, all visitors must stop in the office prior to walking around camp. We need to verify who is here and give you a visitor badge to help our staff know you are supposed to be here.
What if I need to Cancel or Change my Summer Camp Registration?
Prior to May 1: A full refund minus the $25 deposit and $5 registration fee will be issued for all cancellations made by May 1st.
After May 1: a full refund minus the $25 deposit and $5 registration fee will only be given with written verification from a physician of illness or injury.
You can, however, transfer to a different session that your camper is eligible (up to 2 weeks prior to the start of that session). To transfer, there is a $5 fee to move camps, but simply email our camp registrar, Niki, at campootboffice@gmail.com
May I visit Camp OOTB prior to camp?
YES! We would love to have you come see the camp. Please call our office 757-442-7836 to organize a visit to see the grounds and meet some of our staff.
Can I bunk with my friends?
YES! You can select up to 2 buddies to be in your cabin with you. It is super helpful if you all indicate them on both registrations. Buddies should be in the same camp and be the same gender. Although we will do our best to try to accommodate every request, please note that there may be times we cannot put people together based on our supervision numbers. Campers will see friends at meals, choice time, group gatherings, worship and more throughout the day!
What forms are needed for camp?
The forms needed are on our website. Whether you do the cash/check or credit card option, you will need to make sure the health questions are filled out. Please log into your account prior to camp to make sure all things are fill out.
Do you offer any payment plans
Yes! We have through our registration software payment plan options. When you register you will need to make sure you select one or you can pay in full at the time of registration. We are asking that all camps are paid for prior to camp beginning. We can accept final payments at registration if needed.
What time is Check in for Day Camp and Overnight Camp?
Overnight Camp: Camps check in on Sundays at 4p.m. You’ll receive a confirmation email two weeks prior to camp with information about check-in, forms, a reminder packing list, etc. We do provide an evening meal on Sunday, so your camper will have dinner and snack!
Day Camp: Lil’ Stingrays, SandDollars and Stripers can check in at 8a.m. Monday – Friday at our Worship Center Building. (follow signs when you get to the camp). Our LEAP Day campers will check in at 8a.m. Monday – Friday at our Lynch Center/Dining Hall. (Follow signs when you get to camp).
What if we will be late for check in?
We understand sometimes life happens and traffic, emergencies, etc. will prevent you from being at camp on time. We ask that you please call 757-442-7836 and leave a message letting us know, so that we can prepare. It is our hope that you’ll have your camper here before 5p.m. so that they can get their cabin space set up and make it to dinner with their group.
Can I pick up my camper early?
Yes, of course. While we want them to stay to complete our closing worship and program, we understand. Please call the camp as soon as you are aware that you need to pick up early: 757-442-7836. Please be sure that the person picking up is on the authorized pick-up list on your child’s registration. If you need to make any changes to that, please be in touch with Niki at the phone number above or email her at: campootboffice@gmail.com
Can I help my camper set up their cabin space?
Yes, of course. We encourage parents/guardians to come back to the cabins and help their camper set up their bed, meet one of their counselors and some of their friends. We know that this beginning time at camp is so very important and we want them to feel comforted. We have trained our counselors to help acclimate campers when they may be nervous, new, or just worried. We have a lot of fun planned for the start of camp, so don’t fret! We will make sure they are participating and having fun quickly!
What time is Pick Up for my camper?
Overnight Campers: There is a brief closing worship program that we will have together at our Lynch Center/Dining Hall beginning at 2p.m.
Day Campers: Pick up will be from 4:45p.m. to 5p.m. at the building they were dropped off at. If you pick up past 5:15p.m. there is a $5 per 15 minutes you are late. There is one ‘grace’ late pick up. Please be sure you contact the camp to let them know you will be late. Contact 757-442-7836.
All those picking up their camper need to be listed on the Authorized Pick Up question on registration form. If you need to make any changes to that, please be in touch with Niki at the phone number above or email her at: campootboffice@gmail.com

All medications will be collected at the time of check-in and given to our Health Supervisor. He/She will be able to speak with you about any concerns. Every attempt will be made to help and encourage the camper to have a good time. Should they continue to not feel well, our Director will call parents/guardians and discuss options. There is no refund should you decide to pick up your camper early.
